Welcome to Smoothing the Way! Our desire is to serve and assist you, the new or prospective home educator, to be confident in your ability to teach your own children at HOME!!

Your Smoothing the Way group will be comprised of new home schoolers just like you. Smoothing the Way meetings are led by veteran home schoolers who will encourage you and equip you to meet the challenges of your first year of home schooling. In addition to the information you received at monthly meetings, your leaders will help you locate activities and opportunities in your area.

Your membership in Smoothing the Way includes a Member's workbook. An outline for each topic will be covered at the monthly meeting. A list of resources pertaining to that subject is included in the outline. By the end of the year, your workbook will have developed into a reference tool you will use for years to come.

Smoothing the Way will benefit you the most if you begin the program in August and attend as many meetings as possible throughout the year. The calendar is designed to address your needs as you encounter them.

Regular attendance will also give you more opportunities to deepen your friendships with other home schoolers. We do know, however, that people begin home schooling all through the year. For this reason, you are welcome to join Smoothing the Way at anytime! The most important thing is for you to find the support you need to make you a more successful home schooler.
