Credit By Exam: Complete Your Bachelors At Home.
Adam Muldrow

Dear Homeschool Friends,

I am beginning a new venture that I would like to tell you about.
I have just completed my Bachelor of Arts degree during the last
21 months of high school at home. The way I earned my degree was
entirely by exam. I completed all of my studies for a particular
exam at home, and then I went to the testing center at the
University of Houston and took the approved exam in order to
receive college credit for that course. I never had to take one
college class at any campus, and I was able to work at an
accelerated pace. This method of education has come to be known
as "accelerated distance learning" and some colleges/universities
are way ahead of others in their commitment to this method. The
time and financial savings gained by utilizing this method of
education are phenomenal! The length of time from my first exam
to degree completion was 21 months, and the total cost was $3100.00.

My parents and I believe the greatest benefit of this method was
the ability to earn a college degree without subjecting myself to
the humanistic teachings of traditional college classrooms. I
have been able to maintain a biblical worldview throughout all of
my studies. My parents were thrilled to discover this option - an
accredited college degree from home, utilizing the books and
study materials of our own choosing!

My mom and I learned so much while going through this process
that we want to help others do the same. Of course, we didn't
have someone to guide us through the process and having a guide
isn't an absolute necessity. We just know that we learned a lot
of things the hard way because we hadn't yet learned the best way
to do this. There are so many questions that it took hours for us
to find answers to, so many books to weed through to find the
right ones needed, and so many forks in the road where there is
no clear direction.

We are absolutely certain that we can streamline this process for
all that are interested. Most parents are busy with other
children/students and their own daily responsibilities and have
expressed an interest in having me lead them and their high
schooler or older child through this process, answering their
questions quickly and providing clear direction.

Here's a quick example of the things we will talk about - there
is absolutely no reason to take high school math and then take
college math too. Just complete your high school math and then go
pass the college mathematics exam. You'll earn 6 college credits!
The traditional "dual credit" idea works just the opposite. That
method says you have to take their college math course and then
your high school will give you high school credit for it too.
Well, college courses and college books are expensive (and
usually take 2 semesters)! So turn that idea around - do your
studies at home, then go take their exam (for an average cost of
$75) and the college will give you credit for what you did at
home. Also, did you know that tuition is charged by the year? So
don't enroll in any college/university until you are close to
meeting their degree requirements. Of course, you can't talk with
any of their academic advisors until you are an enrolled student
- so I can be your advisor while you accumulate credits!

Now that I have completed my degree, I have developed a "class"
(please see the following pages) in which my mom and I will guide
others through the process of earning an Associate degree in a
detailed step-by-step method. There is a fee, but we know that
the money and time you save by benefiting from our experience
will more than make up for it.

I plan to begin law school this fall at the age of 17. Whether or
not you have made a decision about a particular career, an
accredited college degree will benefit you. I want to help get as
many young people started on their degree path as I can, working
hard with them until the time they have completed their Associate
degree. At that time, I am sure many will continue earning
credits, going on to complete their Bachelor of Arts degrees.

Attached is information about the services that I am offering and
a registration form. If you have any questions please e-mail me.
If you are ready to map out your degree plan and begin earning
college credits please complete and return the attached
registration form.

Also, I would greatly appreciate your forwarding this information
on to those you know that might be interested! I can be reached
at collegeathome@characterlink.net if you have any questions. Thank
you for your time.
